Sausage Masala or Sausage ?????????

This was supposed to be posted on last saturday but cudn't get around to post it till today but still am maintaining the same post I wrote for last weekend.

Its Saturday and weekend . . . Yipeeeeee. This weekend is going to be an idle one with me planning a manicure and a facial if I can. May be Chinese lunch Take out. Life’s good :D.

Hope you all liked the Sausage Pepper fry. Am definitely making it again. May be one day I will get my friend Nisha to write a guest post on the recipe for a sausage fry. Her recipes are always great, yummy and healthy.

Coming back to our post today, its again Sausage but I haven’t named it yet: P. Sausage Masala or Sausage ?????????. Seriously I am very bad at naming. I will leave u guys to name.

Ingredients:
Sausage – 2 pounds (Premio Hot Italian Sausage. Sausage seasoned with crushed red and black pepper)
Tomato – 1 Medium
Onion – 2 Medium
Ginger Garlic Paste
Chilli Powder
Coriander Powder
Salt
Garam Masala

Steps:
  1. Boil the sausage in water for about 15 min. Sausage would have been cooked by then.
  2. Heat oil in Tawa and fry the Sausage in oil for about 3 min on each side on medium flame. (This enhances the taste)
  3. Cut it in one inch wide pieces.
  4. Cut onion and tomato into fine pieces.
  5. Heat oil in a pan/kadai.
  6. Saute the onion until it turns golden brown. (Tip: Add a pinch of salt for the onion to cook faster)
  7. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté it for a couple of minutes.
  8. Then add tomato and let it cook until tomato turns mushy. (Tip: Add salt for the tomato to cook faster)
  9. After the tomato is cooked add salt, chilli powder and coriander powder(Tip: chilli powder and coriander powder should be in the ration 1:2)
  10. Stir it well for a couple of minutes and then add sausage and stir well again.
  11. Add little water and reduce the flame.
  12. Add garam masala and let it mix well for sometime.
  13. Add more water if u want it gravy. I made it quite thick.

And Voila !!!! You have your Sausage masala . . .

Sausage Pepper Fry

I love having sausage in restaurants but I have never thought about cooking one. But when my BFF Nishath suggested me that I try cooking one I was intrigued. She was all praises about how yummy it was. So I decided to try for myself. I am neither an experimental cook nor one who follows recipes letter for letter. Somewhere in mid I guess. I couldn't find one proper recipe to cook sausage Indian way. It was all left for me to wonder.

This was in my mind when I chose my sausage. I decided to buy "Premio Hot Italian Sausage". The reason being that, this is not a plain sausage. Rather, it also had crushed red and black pepper and seasoning. I was also skeptical about buying this since I was going to make it Indian way, or to say, my way.

It not only turned out great, my family luved it. Especially my 19 month old son. He devoured it.

Lemme leave the rambling and come to the recipe.

Ingredients:
Premio Hot Italian Sausage - 2 pounds
Onion - 2 medium
Pepper
Chilli powder
Coriander powder
salt

Steps:
  1. Boil the sausage in water for about 15 min. Sausage would have been cooked by then.
  2. Cut it in one inch wide pieces.
  3. Slice onion length wise.
  4. Heat oil in a pan/kadai.
  5. Saute the onion until it turns golden brown.
  6. Add pepper powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and salt (I added very little of all these since my sausage was already seasoned) and saute it for a min or so. It better to do this in a low flame.
  7. Add the cut sausages and keep stirring around. Let it cook for a while. (Again low flame. Since sausage is already cooked, it just needs to mix well with the spices we have added)
  8. Tadaaaaa . . . U have your sausage pepper fry.

We had it with sambar and rice. And another instance we had it as a snack.

If your sausage isn't seasoned, you might have to add the seasonings accordingly. Mine was yummy to eat after just boiling.

Do try it out and tell me how it is.

Maybelline is a brand known for its quality yet affordable products and has been around for a long time. Their latest launch is the Maybelline Color Show Nail Laquer. The moment I saw the pictures I was captivated. It such a beauty to look and to own. They have introduced 40 new shades in four variants.

Color Show Nail Laquer, The Denim Collection

Color Show Nail Laquer, The Mettalic Collection

Color Show Nail Laquer, The Shredded Collection

  Color Show Nail Laquer

I saw them on display when I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond. I didn’t have time to linger and choose one. So I decided on the Purple Possibilities from the Shredded Collection. I so wanted to try the Denim Collection first. But this wasn’t a disappointment. Then again, I picked up the styled out from the Denim Collection when I went to walmart last week but there was this one from metallic collection peeking at me which made me replace the styled out and pick this. And that one is Navy Narcissist. Both reviews coming soon.

Am eyeing on Styled Out, Tenacious Teal, Coral Crush, and Silver Stunner next.
But I suggest you not to decide on the colors based on the website. The colors are much more vibrant and attractive in real.

Check out Maybelline Color Wheel for more details on the Color Show nail Laquer.

So, what do you think about the color show nail laquer? Is it going to be you next buy?

Updates

I have been planning some stuff for my blog for sometime now. Have already revamped my blog, with new themes, widgets and stuff. Nothing big but planning on branching out to some recipes, product reviews, my son’s exploits and of course my take on life. Before I go ahead I would like to clear some things.

After following recipes so many times, I dont to go ahead with exactly the same amount of spices coz’ I might not use the same brand as urs and mine might be lot more spicy but you might not like spicy items. I will help you if there’s any ratio involved but will leave the rest to you. I am not one to decorate my food and display. Its not that I don’t like but I don’t get time to cook and display and even take pics when cooking, tho’ I will try to do so if I get time.

In between you can also see some outfits I have put together in polyvore. I love going through outfits in polyvore and putting together something beautiful.

Have fun reading my blog and follow and subscribe in the widgets you can see on the right hand side of the blog.

Ain't it class????
