Life without TV, Facebook and Twitter

I was putting Jake to sleep when I suddenly thought about my stay as a Paying Guest when I  first joined work. After 3 months in my aunt's house and 3 months in a horrible hostel(they call themselves PG) I was desperately looking for a new place to stay. I dont care for more than 1 roommate. So with the price range in the equation it was too complicated. I finally found one and when I was ready to move my parents was super scared. My mom even had one of her friends check it out. The room(board + food) was heaven for the price range I was looking at. And me the only person there was the topping. It ate away half my salary but it was great. A few months later my friend joined me for a few months but for many more months I was alone.

It was then, I started reading voraciously. I used to read even in school and college but not much tho'. This time I found a good library which actually was ripping me off. But it was ok for me. I got books. It all mattered. I used to rent once a week (twice a week sometimes) with 4 books each time. I even took up walking early morning. I used to wake up at 6 am and walk around. I still remember the feel of the early morning sun on me.

But I never tweeted, no facebook, instagrammed . . . anything. I didn't have a laptop or computer with me then and no Tv either. I used to talk on the phone so much, racking up bills. (I still dunno how I managed on the salary). The moment I reach home, I would take my book and read until, dinner comes. Then read somemore continuing thro' my dinner, till I sleep. Fridays I read up late, talking on the phone and so. Books and Sleep were my companion in equal. As much I read books, I slept too.

It may sound boring but I still remember this period as the best period in my working life. Weekends was window shopping in malls with friends. Window shopping was not about looking at clothes. It was about having fun with friends. We talk, we tease and we have fun. Later(after tsunami) I was introduced to the social arm of the company I was working then. After that, every Saturday, we'd go to the villages affected by tsunami and meet with the kids and spend the morning with them. I learnt so much from them. They have so much courage and even after all they went through in their lives, they were so strong. And oh! we have been to catamaran rides too; twice; in a fishing boat; and met dolphins. It was so much fun. The humid cool air hitting our faces with the splashes of sea water. . . And come back badly tanned. And spend the next few weeks trying to remove the tan.

And then the time with my friend "Amie", who joined me later, was really great. We did the same thing; read books and sleep. But I got a companion for my Sunday walk to the church nearby. We'd walk to church; pray; then to the nearby Coffee Shop and get "Death by Chocolate". That was yum. I've never tasted anything better. We never had the drink in the coffee shop. We'd walk to the nearby skating rink and then just sit there watching little tykes learning to skate. They were so adorable to watch. Then walk back to our room for dinner.

But I never tweeted, no facebook, instagrammed . . . anything. And I never felt bored. And that period is something I remember as being happy.

Now I cant remember a day we don't get onto twitter, facebook or watch a movie or TV show. And I dunno what I'd do without them. I'd get bored. But what has changed? What happened to those simple pleasures in life. It all seems a little naive now but I was happy.

If I went back to that period again; Will I be bored or be rejuvenated??????????????

Oh I still read books too. I read it online. But you cant beat the feel of a book in your hands, turning the pages. Setting bookmarks. Whatcha say?????

Few things I love right now . . .

You know this post was first planned as a rant since I was having such a headache couple of hours back. Now that am back with renewed energy this post is going to be about certain things in life am loving right now. May be a smell or a video or a lippy . . . Just anything.

I hope you love reading this as you love reading my other ramblings. Yeah its true . . . My ramblings are the posts with the maximum views. I really cant believe it. But am happy . . . so so so happy.

  1. You know what am gonna miss so much when I go back to US or to Chennai or anywhere else. . . The smell of dirt when the first rain hits the ground. Its such a unique pleasant smell which I haven't yet smelt anywhere else. mmmmm I cud still remember the smell.

  2. The next thing am gonna miss is my mom's fish curry. She makes a mean fish curry. The taste stays with you for a long long time. Even my cousin takes some back when ever he visits us. Its safe to say I didn't get her knack in cooking fish. I prefer to shallow fry or grill it.

  3. My new go-to earring is my new vintage dull gold earring. It was gifted by my sweet friend Dhara. Its such a gorgeous earring. I wear it with just about anything and it suits all.

  4. Who knew Jake loves bike rides on dad's Honda Activa. I prefer him sitting in the back seat between me and dad but I know he prefers sitting in front of dad. I mean sitting and holding the handlebar just where dad holds it and not standing. He prefers doing everything in full measure.

  5. I have done atleast 2 manis consecutively with this yet am not bored and feel like doing more. Its my very first Essie Polish "Meet me at Sunset". Such a gorgeous summery color. I have so many mani ideas popping up when ever I see this bottle.

  6. My new Maybelline BB Stick. I wasn't sure about buying it. It was an impulse buy but I didnt regret one moment of buying it. Makes me feel fresh. It gets better as the day goes by and my face glows. Not the bad glow due to sweat but a subtle glow.

  7. This is my go-to lip color now. Maybelline Jewel Lipstick Fuchsia Crystal. Brightens up my face instantly and the last time I chked it it lasted for more than 5 hours and lasted even after a snack. Just what I need.

  8. As if the products in the points 6 and 7 is not enough, I also love my Maybelline Color Tattoo Bad to the Bronze. Its Love Love Love. . .

  9. Jean Paul Gautier Classique Perfume . . . Hubs got it for me 2 yrs back. Lasts all day long and I've had people ask me after more than 5 hours of wear time about this perfume. This is my current love now.

  10. Awwwww !!!! How could I not love my lil rock star's antics. I agree I get headache sometimes and my ears ring from his screeches and screams but there's something adorable in all those screeches and screams.

  11. I have saved the best for the last. My dad's Easy Chair. I've never sat in a more comfy chair before. Something that makes me sweat within a few minutes. ( I experience that with our couch in chennai). Super comfy and heavenly. Did I say this is very comfy comfy . . . Where do you think am writing this post from? Me and Jake; we compete for this chair. Sometimes am not so charitable and just pick Jake up from this chair and seat him on the sofa before claiming it for me. When I mean compete, it really means compete. The moment I sit up, Jake just slides in behind me waiting for me to get irritated and move. He he he . . . We are both gonna miss this chair. If only I could just pack it up and take it along with me. But then; the moment hubs finds this easy chair, both me and  Jake can forget about it.

P.S : Did you notice that all my makeup loves are from Maybelline. I just noticed it. May be its Maybelline month . . .

On other things . . .

I haven't done any mani for 2 weeks now . . . Wud u believe it???? Well Its true . . . The only thing I did is try out the Pure cuticle oil I won in the nail art contest by SimpleNailArtTips.com. I love it. Continous use has moisturized my cuticles and now there's no torn cuticles and it has reduced the yellow staining in my nails too. This is going to be a permanent fixture in my daily routine. I broke a nail few days after the travel, fixed it only to break one more nail and trim it a lot shorter.

On other things . . . am in my home town right now . . . Spending some time with my parents and in-laws. Gorging on homemade food . . . and relaxing. Jake has been out of jetlag for about 5 days now. He was in a weird timing, sleeping around 2pm and waking up at 3 am. 3 AM. Yep! am up and about by 3 am in the morning. And my 5 am he is in such a mood to play. *Sigh* I was forever tired and going crazy. Thank God its all over now.

He doesn't have any restriction about when he can go out (may be not during the mid afternoon) and he can run any time which is wat he pretty much does. I live in an apartment in US and you know the rest. No running, no jumping inside the apartment blah blah blah . . .

I havent been able to visit my friends and relatives yet. His cousins are here now and he is having such a good time. Naughty naughty naughty. Didn't know this side of my son at all. His favorite hobby is to follow his cousin Joshua who is 3 yrs elder to him and try to do everything he does. And scare his other cousin Neshiya who is 3 months elder to him. Did I say that he is the naughtiest of all. .

Sometimes am in loss for words and my throat is sore at shouting after him. But he is having such a lovely time and who am I to spoil it.

Am not sure when I will be doing my next mani . . . so until then as my blog name goes am gonna ramble.

What have you been doing this week? Having fun time like me . . Do you like my blog??? If you do follow me thro' GFC and also in Facebook.

Travel Rant

The next time am flying with my son it has to be with my hubby. May be when am travelling to US again will be the last time. I was frustrated is a mild thing to say. I was frazzled and ready to scream.

Jake is a live wire who needs action all the time. He hates waiting in lines, hates waiting to disembark the flight, hates waiting for the in-flight television to start up . . . well he plainly hates to wait. He throws a tantrum after all that wait and by the time the flight takes off he is fast asleep on my lap and the flight attendant has to rush for a infant seat belt. Thank god it fit him. And he is fast asleep for a few hours giving me a much needed break.

He also likes a few things like the escalator . . . He has to get on every escalator he laid his eyes on. He made me take every walking escalator on the way to the boarding gate. And when I missed one escalator made me take the one back and then come forward again *sigh*.

The flight to Abudhabi was, I guess it was ok since Jake didn't know about the next flight waiting for him. I was actually happy that Jake was coping up well. It all started just as we boarded the flight to Trivandrum in abu-dhabi. Half way through boarding, he guessed it was another flight he was boarding and decided not to board and started a tantrum AGAIN. I had to carry him physically to our seat after which the tantrum still continued with the air hostess promising him a hot choclate :D and some toys (The toys flew from his hand across the seat. *ofcourse he threw it*). I had to apologize to the bewildered girl who was totally confused. I was so sorry for her. 15 min later he was sleeping again :) This time he was sleeping on me literally. I found some Maroon 5 music which was the only one I liked and the moment I start listening to it he woke up, which meant I cant listen to anything. The funny thing is the flight attendant gave me Jake's meal as my meal and me, too tired to see it; had it. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

A massive tantrum started again when the fellow travelers didn't disembark the flight fast enough for my son at Trivandrum. It continued all the way to the baggage carousal, at which I got special permission from the officials to hand my son to my parents who were waiting for me. It was then the first peaceful moment for the first time in 18 hours. Just imagine how I wud have looked then. Hair flying all around me, sunken eyes, desperate face . . .

By the time I got back to them they were sweating and my son running circles around them.

My first breath of Indian air mixed with sweat and garbage drifting from somewhere was sooooooooo good, as was holding my parents hands talking about Jake's tantrums. The tiredness was all gone rejuvenating me.

Wat an eventful travel. . .

Am baaaaaccccccckkkkkk!!!!!!! was a lil busy for sometime and there's some news and some new stuff on here which I will tell you next week. I have a few ideas for posts other than nail art . . . You gotta wait and find out.

I had some good news the last couple of weeks . . . Won the nail art competition by Ana Seidel from Simplenailarttips.com. She recreated my manicure for her nails on valentines day. It was such a pleasure to see my nail art being created by her. And added to that I won the Sephora gift card giveaway by musingsofamuse.com. I cant stop grinning.

I haven't yet decided what to buy from Sephora yet. But my prize from Simplenailarttips.com have arrived. I got her Pure refill Kits which I so much wanted. The prize also included 6 glitter pots and a personalized copy of her book. I'm using the glitter pots next week.

I have a nail art lined up for tomorrow. Actually I had two but I didn't photograph the other one. I was busy with my son's second birthday and all that. But I will recreate it in a couple of weeks.

So for now . . . wait for a valentine skittle nail art.

Introducing my Son Jake.

I haven’t been able to post for a few days last week for some reason or the other. (Isn’t this a polite way of saying I got lazy).  Surprising my friend Beni isn’t on my back for not posting. Probably she got tired of waiting but every time I don’t post in the right time I get guilty.

Beni . . . What have u done to me???????

Any way back to the post. When I was whining to Beni couple of months back, that I wasn’t having any inspiration, her answer was “You have Jake, what more inspiration do you need”. She’s right, you know. I can write his antics over and over. It’s so beautiful to watch. I always wanted to write but you don’t talk much about your baby’s achievements in public forum. It’s what the elders say. . . But me and hubs decided to share some of his antics/achievements with ya all . . .

How do I describe him????? He's witty, very observant, funny, silly, intelligent and charming actor. Did I say Actor???? Of yeah he is an actor. Those are for another day. Now I wanna share the moment I held him in my hands.

I had relatively short but a rather painful delivery. After 5 hours, I had the proud moment when I had my little one in my hands. He was so tiny and the most beautiful baby I’d ever seen; scrunchy face and all. It was the happiest moment in my life. Trust me, it is one moment anyone will be lost for words. Even today I see how much he has grown and I remember the first days of his life.

I am not even going to touch the topic of diet which was restricted for a quite long time with me having a really yucky herbal mixture of fish curry and loadsa veggies. And those herbal mixtures I had to have. It was Jake who helped me have those. One look at his face and I cud have done anything for him. I was frustrated so many times but the moment I saw my lil one I decided I would have every single one of those stuff if it was good for my son.

Sausage Masala or Sausage ?????????

This was supposed to be posted on last saturday but cudn't get around to post it till today but still am maintaining the same post I wrote for last weekend.

Its Saturday and weekend . . . Yipeeeeee. This weekend is going to be an idle one with me planning a manicure and a facial if I can. May be Chinese lunch Take out. Life’s good :D.

Hope you all liked the Sausage Pepper fry. Am definitely making it again. May be one day I will get my friend Nisha to write a guest post on the recipe for a sausage fry. Her recipes are always great, yummy and healthy.

Coming back to our post today, its again Sausage but I haven’t named it yet: P. Sausage Masala or Sausage ?????????. Seriously I am very bad at naming. I will leave u guys to name.

Ingredients:
Sausage – 2 pounds (Premio Hot Italian Sausage. Sausage seasoned with crushed red and black pepper)
Tomato – 1 Medium
Onion – 2 Medium
Ginger Garlic Paste
Chilli Powder
Coriander Powder
Salt
Garam Masala

Steps:
  1. Boil the sausage in water for about 15 min. Sausage would have been cooked by then.
  2. Heat oil in Tawa and fry the Sausage in oil for about 3 min on each side on medium flame. (This enhances the taste)
  3. Cut it in one inch wide pieces.
  4. Cut onion and tomato into fine pieces.
  5. Heat oil in a pan/kadai.
  6. Saute the onion until it turns golden brown. (Tip: Add a pinch of salt for the onion to cook faster)
  7. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté it for a couple of minutes.
  8. Then add tomato and let it cook until tomato turns mushy. (Tip: Add salt for the tomato to cook faster)
  9. After the tomato is cooked add salt, chilli powder and coriander powder(Tip: chilli powder and coriander powder should be in the ration 1:2)
  10. Stir it well for a couple of minutes and then add sausage and stir well again.
  11. Add little water and reduce the flame.
  12. Add garam masala and let it mix well for sometime.
  13. Add more water if u want it gravy. I made it quite thick.

And Voila !!!! You have your Sausage masala . . .

Sausage Pepper Fry

I love having sausage in restaurants but I have never thought about cooking one. But when my BFF Nishath suggested me that I try cooking one I was intrigued. She was all praises about how yummy it was. So I decided to try for myself. I am neither an experimental cook nor one who follows recipes letter for letter. Somewhere in mid I guess. I couldn't find one proper recipe to cook sausage Indian way. It was all left for me to wonder.

This was in my mind when I chose my sausage. I decided to buy "Premio Hot Italian Sausage". The reason being that, this is not a plain sausage. Rather, it also had crushed red and black pepper and seasoning. I was also skeptical about buying this since I was going to make it Indian way, or to say, my way.

It not only turned out great, my family luved it. Especially my 19 month old son. He devoured it.

Lemme leave the rambling and come to the recipe.

Ingredients:
Premio Hot Italian Sausage - 2 pounds
Onion - 2 medium
Pepper
Chilli powder
Coriander powder
salt

Steps:
  1. Boil the sausage in water for about 15 min. Sausage would have been cooked by then.
  2. Cut it in one inch wide pieces.
  3. Slice onion length wise.
  4. Heat oil in a pan/kadai.
  5. Saute the onion until it turns golden brown.
  6. Add pepper powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and salt (I added very little of all these since my sausage was already seasoned) and saute it for a min or so. It better to do this in a low flame.
  7. Add the cut sausages and keep stirring around. Let it cook for a while. (Again low flame. Since sausage is already cooked, it just needs to mix well with the spices we have added)
  8. Tadaaaaa . . . U have your sausage pepper fry.

We had it with sambar and rice. And another instance we had it as a snack.

If your sausage isn't seasoned, you might have to add the seasonings accordingly. Mine was yummy to eat after just boiling.

Do try it out and tell me how it is.

My Visit to my Native. . .

It been long since I have written. So again I have revamped my blog but am giving no promises of regular posts. I will try to post something regularly.

So For this beginning I think Christmas is the right time. Merry Christmas to all. . .

Are you wondering what initiated this post? As I was telling everyone I was lacking inspiration but the best inspiration was in my very own hands. That was; my travel to my native. My son is now 10 months and old enough to observe everything around him and enjoy everything. I found myself showing him all those green fields you see when you are near the station. Then I understood what had been just a vacation for me with my family could be an unbelievable experience for my son. I could see him wide eyed and observing everything.

The food experiences are nothing short of excitement for my son, looking at the trees, plants, flowers, birds, cats everything you don’t get to see in my apartment. I then understood how privileged I had been. He never has his food inside probably except his dinner. He enjoys the sounds of the birds and loves watching the cat running around. I enjoy watching him; stare at everything with unbridled joy and pleasure. It is such a treat to watch him enjoy all the things I grew up with.

I can’t wait to take him to the beach. We got loads of beaches around here. I enjoy beaches immensely and I don’t mean the crowded ones (not that I don’t like them) but those deserted ones with probably a few families here and there. I want to see if he enjoys it. I have taken him to beach before but it was at night so there was nothing for him to enjoy. But trust me when I say this is absolutely the wrong season to visit a beach here in Nagercoil. Not that it prevents us from visiting the beach; we go there against all odds.

First view of Glasgow

Elizabeth helped us with arranging cars and we started to office. OMG Galsgow is so beautiful with so much trees, peace, and beautiful greenery. The houses all looked a little thrown back in era compared to the modern world but there is where the beauty lies. You should see the scenery outside the office window. Such a perfect environment to work. And returning back we decided to investigate more ways to reach hotel and we tried taking a bus and then a subway. It was tiring a little but then when I am subjected to such lovely beauty it all fades at the back. Since we had decided to walk around a little we took the Byres road. Tell You wat 75% of the shops were closed. This wasn't wat I had expected. The cold was starting to get us through the leather gloves too. AFter doing some teeny weeny bit shopping and dinner we started to walk to the hotel following the directions"Take tht right, walk straight, take the first right and walk staight ahead. You will find it." We walked, walked and walked. Sorry we climbed, climbed and climbed and then we reached our hotel. And again all I cud do is go to bed straight ofcourse after dinner of a subway sandwich. 2 days of sandwiches *faints* *thud*.

Friday wasn't as eventful. . . had a walk of 2.5 hrs in the botanical gardens. Such a beautiful place off the highway. An idle walk and lots and lots of pictures. On the way back we decided to visit a 24/7 shop run by our neighbour as he says . . . a pakistani. Very helpful, answering our questions about asian markets and volunteering information for us, just as a good neighbour does. Then again back to the room . . . this time not to bed. I was so relaxed to go to bed. SO I decided to write my blog. Now as I have finished it am gonna post it and then head back out again, with more information and stuff to post here.

Visit to UK and my first taste of UK

I boarded my flight on wednesday morning. I had left home with confidence. Wat I didnt expect was the tears threatening to fall. Just cudnt a put a finger on why I felt so. The flight was a little tiring with travelling for 14 hrs straight and then boarding the flight to Glasgow from London Heathrow airport. It was all as I had expected. A busy airport very much business like. But the moment changed when I was flying to glasgow. Such a beautiful country. If the cloud permits you, , , all u can see is green green and more green. And somewhere in middle you can see a beautiful place with all identical roofed houses(thts all I can see from tht height, he he) and clear paths. Very wonderfully planned. And moving towards glasgow there's lot of those green fields and now its all dotted with white spots. . . I guess its all cows. I cud seeter a lot still on the way to office. We landed at glasgow and we had to call the hotel before reaching there. So we decided to buy a sim on the way to the hotel and tried to tke a taxi. Unfortunately the taxi driver didnt know abt the route. Still he got the address and took us to a mall where I can get sim. Everywhere everyone was so helpful. No frowning or anything. Scotland was all I expected and more. After the help from the sales person who volunteerly helped by guiding to the right kind of sim we needed we go it and left to the hotel. The rest of the journey was calls to family and friends. Reaching the hotel, we just wanted to reach the rooms and then Bed and we did just tht. But we were careful not to sleep coz' the best way to fight jet lag is to try following the time zone of the place we are in.We met Elizabeth, the owner and then walked into our apartment. OMG it was beautiful. A little rundown but was stright out of books with a fireplace, a rug in front of it and lovely couches where am now writing this from. I just peeped into a room just like the living room, big beds, windows and a beautiful lawn in front of the window. Wat more do I need. Tell me?????

Starting my blog again

Hi all,I know I know . . . Havent been here as much as I wud like to. But the truth is tht I was going through an important phase in my life and was very well engrossed in it. I got engaged last Feb and married in May.Well am not going to go deep into that. And after that now in UK.

And after being in such a beautiful country, I have decided to write a blog whenever I can. I see beautiful people, nature at its utmost beauty and the touch of GOD every where and I thought this is absolute heaven. Trust me . . . This is heaven.

So after this introduction, The daily blog starts again. Keep following.

Sour moods 2

Ah!!!!!!!!!! am in one of my sour moods again. Can't believe I have these so often now-a-days and to top it all I spent the whole day at office and again 5 more days. Really this sucks.

Not that I hate this job but I honestly dunno why. May be am in time for my long pending vacation. But I can do only one of the following. Go to Rock on!! gig in Bangalore or to my friend Nawin's wedding or a family trip somewhere for my dad's B'day. But I wanna do all!!!!!!!!!!!! How would it be if I can take a vacation for 2 weeks . . . Absolute heaven but if only wishes were horses . . .

Sour moods

Yesterday my mind was in such turmoil. I was facing such a emotional upheaval, that I couldn’t either sleep or watch TV or do nothing. I went back to my world of books and music. With Ronan Keating and Blue at the background I took my copy of “Gentle Warrior” by “Julie Garwood” to read. Even Julie Garwood couldn’t bring it back to control. I resorted to my final way of bringing it out. I wrote my new song “Don’t walk away”. It’s still in the draft form and one of the darkest songs I have written. I just wanted to write it so that I can find peace in it. Well! I did find peace after a struggle of 5 hours I went to sleep at 5 am today morning. And then it starts all over again slept late and late to office too.
Tell you what . . . these are one of the very few times I feel the need to let myself go and depend on someone and forget about everything else. But I rode the night out with what I can do myself in the confines of four walls. I honestly don’t care about all the practical reasons why you should marry, but this is the only reason I can think the reason for tying the knot. But this is truly a day dream for me for undisclosed reasons. I don’t wanna end this up sarcastically. But a man crazy about music, loves books and interested to travel to places where Mother Nature is in her utmost beauty is welcome in my life. (He he I know such a man doesn’t exist.)
And coming back to my original topic, I still feel a emotional upheaval. I honestly dunno why. Is my instincts working overtime or is something really going to happen or am I just feeling lonely. I gotta wait to know that. But I know a positive outcome of all this. There are going to be some new songs written. Well! That’s my only way out of all this.

My birthday wash

He he . . . Sorry But again its Rock On!! I never been affected by a movie so much or able to relate it to my life. Watching a movie consecutively for three weeks . . . This is the first time in 26 years. Every movie I have watched and been my favorite has started to bore me the second time but am still ready to watch it the fourth time too . . . But not this week probably the next week.
I was thinking about my birthday bash I had in August . . . Know what? it was a birthday wash not a birthday bash. Everyone found one work or the other they had that day. The only good thing that happened was Rock on!! that was released on Aug 29.
Gifts!!!! My dad gifted me a IPOD Nano and my mom and dad together gifted me a saree. And there were other dolls by my friends. Honestly, I don’t understand what happened to them. Dolls for me? Even my team members gifted me the same. I have one on my bed too. My ever practical Nishath gifted me a cotton top to use with my new Jean. The best part is I got myself a Giordano Tshirt, Lee skinny Jean, Raw Hide High heal sandal, and topped it with a Estelle costume jewellery set. Finally I had reduced my weight enough to wear them and even look good in it. Ohhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! I loved it.
And on the day my dinner plan was spoilt coz’ my lead decided a meeting cant go without me and was held up in office until 10:30 pm to present three incident details. What can get worse than that. I had worn a saree to office and every one was surprised to see me coz’ everyone had decided I was every inch a city gal. I let them think what ever they want. He he . . Who wants to keep explaining? The truth is am lazy to wake up early and wear a saree, even though I love wearing it and I know I look gud in it. Hey u gotta accept, wearing a jean and Tshirt is lot easier than wearing a saree. And Oh! Let me tell u a secret: I am really very very lazy and every inch a small town gal from Nagercoil, Kanyakumari. But they need not know that . . . Do they?
And again am out of the topic. . . We were talking about my Birthday Wash. After my B’day dinner being spoilt I had planned for going to Rock on!! with my friends followed by dinner. The movie was good and that made the best start for a day out with my friends. But it was just me with my other 3 friends. Even for dinner many didn’t bother to come. My dear friend Moumita was with me the whole day and I was feeling great that at least she was with me that day. By the end she was feeling a bit ill when we had out dinner at Cascade in Besant Nagar. But still she was not ready to end the fun. She still stayed on with me. Moumi, dear you made my day special. Dinner was great. My college friend Nawin joined me for dinner. Food was exceptionally good. Cascade always provides the best. After dinner we split for the night. Moumi was staying with me for the night and we had a time of the night chatting about work, marriage and other stuff. I am eager for another night like that. Well! It was not a failure but a disappointment since Nishath didn’t join me the whole day and Benitta was with me for only half the movie.
But know what I have decided no more birthday treats and plans. I will travel home and be with my parents and we will have the best time in the world. Not one more like this one.

Blogging again and Rock on

Hey Guys . . .Am back to blogging again. Am going thro' a dry period now due to some personal issues. But I've decided to bounce back again.

The reason is something I watched and is still watching whenever I can . . . The movie "Rock On!!" is that. So a small review is here . . .

* Warning - This is my first review since I don't write reviews. But this is a exception.

I was waiting for the movie to be released for nearly 2 months since the day I listened to the track "Rock On". It was the main reason I wanted to watch the movie but it is not the reason am watching it again and again. Every time I watch it it strikes a chord in me.
Farhan(Aditya), Arjun(Joe), Luke(Rob) and Purab(KD) are the members of the rock band "Majik" and are the heros in the movie. Well!! One cant choose one member to be the hero of the movie. Each member is a very different personality and that is the trait which ties Majik together when they started and that is the one which brings Majik together after 10 years.
Its not easy when you get to live your dream only to lose it. And every character has expressed it very well. Aditya as a person who has locked him within himself, Joe as a person who is depressed and lost hope, Rob as a person who is trying to cling on to a hope of living it again and KD as a person who has left fate has its way. All four has lived the characters.
But its Joe and Rob who attract me in this movie. Even though they couldn't reach their dream, they have taken music to be their life. Rob in the scene when all the members except himself is in a very tense mood before the first performance in "Channel V Launch Pad" (He actually smiles looking at everyone trying to vent it out) and Joe in the climax when he lets go of his wife's hand and joins the band for the song "Sindbad the sailor" does a lot to the movie. Aditya and KD has done well but its the other two who is the backbone of the movie as well as the band.
Something has to be said about the ladies too . . . Prachi desai as sakshi(Aditya's wife), Shabana Goswami as Debbie(Joe's wife) has done well. Sakshi trying to bring happiness to Aditya's life and Debbie trying to prevent Joe getting more depressed if this attempt fails, brings a more in depth look for the movie. But one this I feel out of box is Aditya running off after the rift between himself and Joe and also dumping his GF Tanya (Nicolette Bird) and Tanya marrying the guy who i feel here is a rival to Majik. But the rest of the movie is so good that this doesn't matter at all.
Hats off to Abishek Kapoor and team. . . especially to Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy.

Info about my poems

When you all read ma poems and lyrics, only very few understand my seriousness with which I write my lyrics. Guys, I wanna be a lyricist . . .Thats my dream, passion and everything.

Many ppl who read it(around 95%), think and ask me, who do you love or who made you write all these poems. Am not one of such person, to fall in love and then keep writing about all my feelings. I might fall in love, but I will make sure ,my life is not so sad as I write in my poems.

I write most of my poems after reading some romantic books. There are authors who write romance books so emotional, so that when you read them you are in tears. These books help me write my lyrics, since the core in my poems and lyrics are feelings.

And to those who still think, "Nope! I dont believe in what she says. She is in love in someone, thats why is writing so emotional"(I have heard ppl telling me so. They wudnt believe me even if I swear.) . . . My answer is "Please Please Please Please Please Please Go ahead and keep thinking so. coz' those who believe me and trust me is all who matters to me."

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HOUSE AND HOME

Apr 9, 2007: Didnt get time to post it. . . so posting it now. . .

I just returned from my home . . . Nope not from Besant Nagar but from Nagercoil. I have been in chennai for nearly 3 years and in the present house for nearly 1 years and 6 months. Yet why am I not able to call it a  home. I have always wondered whats the difference between a House and Home. For 21 years I had been with my parents and I clearly didnt know anything different. I was always surrounded with love.

I am now typing this one and half hours before I start for chennai and I am trying to get my mind together for working. I always think how great would it be to return to someone you love and care for after you work. May be thats why I dont feel like leaving office every night . . . I dont wanna return to a house . . . I wanna come home. I have longed this for 3 years. . . Every thing doesnt go your way.

I now remember the moment I got a information from my Placement Officer that my offer letter had arrived and am supposed to go to chennai in 2 days. I was in a phone booth in tirunelveli after my eye check up and I just cried then and there. I well knew my life's gonna change the way I dont want it to . . . But am happy I was able to keep myself in check . . . I do what I feel like doing and am what I feel like being.

I am now writing this from home with my mom and dad near me. When I write next I will be alone. :(((((((((((((((((((((((((((
